about
At the age of just 18, Donita Rose takes her first steps onto the musicscene, with her debut single ”Please Don’t Leave Me”. The song is a very personal story about a love slipping away, and the fear of losing the one you love. A feeling most people have experienced and can relate to.
Donita Rose was born in Denmark, and grew up there, but her roots are in the Philippines. When she was just 11 months old, she was forcibly removed from her biological mother, and have had a childhood full of neglect. When she was 3 years old, she was placed in a foster family, where she lived until she was 10. After this, she was passed on to an assisted living facility called Spanager.
About this time Donita Rose says
“This is the best thing that ever happened to me, in the 18 years I have lived. Spanager helped me through a lot of things, and have always been there for me, through all of my ups and downs.”
Unfortunately Spanager closed down, and Donita Rose was forced to move into a flat and take care of herself, at the age of only 16. Her high school life had started, and she was on her own, with only a little help from the council. In her sparetime she attended a youth club called Klub Midt Arena, where she recorded covers with music teacher Martin Larsen. This is also where she met producer Jonas Rendbo, at a music workshop for young people, that he was teaching. In less than 2 hours Donita Rose and Jonas recorded the song “Please Don’t Leave Me”, on the first day they met.
This is where a new story for Donita Rose starts. She is now a part of the family of the small independent label Jonas Music, and there is a lot more new music coming.
lyrics
Im sorry if I hurt you
Or did anything wrong
But it seems like you didn’t even notice
All the little things I’ve done
Just to make you smile and laugh
Cause all I wanted to do was make you happy
You didn’t catch me
When I was falling down on my knees
But I fought against the thunderstorm
And here Im still standing
Waiting for you to love me back
And I walked into the hurricane
Just to see you standing there
Holding another girl’s hand
So please don’t leave me
Please don’t leave me
Cause I love you
I don’t want you to fall in love
With someone who isn’t me
But I know that I can’t hold you down
Cause you don’t have the same feelings for me
But I have to move on, cause I’ve been waiting too long
For you to love me back
You didn’t catch me
When I was falling down on my knees
But I fought against the thunderstorm
And here Im still standing
Waiting for you to love me back
And I walked into the hurricane
Just to see you standing there
Holding another girl’s hand
So please don’t leave me
Please don’t you leave me
Cause I love you
